I have been a fan of Conan the Barbarian ever since I started reading comic books way back in the day. I have the entire collection and most of the magazines. Robert E. Howard's Conan the Barbarian inspired most of my fantasy art over the years.
Each book was packed full of juicy action and adventure, drawn by some of the best artists in the industry. John Buscema, Barry Windsor Smith, Alfredo Alcala, Gil Kane, Joe Jusko and many more artists participated in creating the myths and muscles surrounding this series.
The artwork taught me how to draw human anatomy, action, creatures and characters.
It was all very inspiring even in black and white.
Landscapes and layouts are all part of the learning process.
