If it's one thing I enjoy it's seeing the process shots of blue pencil conceptual art. There is something about the basic nature of it that appeals to me. Many times I take a step back just to get a good look at something I'm working on to make sure I'm on the right track.
From this point I scan the original artwork at 8k resolution and begin work in either Photoshop or Procreate on the iPad. I convert the main image to black and white and start clean up. Then I begin blocking in colors and eventually move on to details.
This is Mordrake, king of the Razor moths. He wields his tyrannical power over the inhabitants of the Gora forest. There is much to say about this notorious king, but that must wait for another time.
I really enjoyed working on this character. He's kind of a dark wizard of sort's. We'll have to wait and see what he is capable of and who can stop him.

Here's the final image of his Mordrake's magical ways.
